Before you go any further, I just want to state that Booker is indeed a max contract player in today's market and he has all the time in the world to make an All-Star leap. This has nothing to do with his scoring ability, it's primarily about his lack of an all-around game/intangibles and minimal on-court impact.

Why do I think Booker is the worst player among this group of 20 year olds? I'll give a couple of examples:
Booker ranks last among these players in VORP, and is one of only two players in the negatives
Booker has the second lowest combined total of APG and RPG, only Wiggins is worse.
Booker has the lowest combined total of SPG and BPG

While Booker's name is up there with some All-Time Greats that have accomplished this scoring feat, he ranks at the very bottom of the list in terms of impact and non-scoring production. Booker is the only player on this list to not have an above average skill that does not involve him putting the ball through the net ( other than Wiggins ) . He's not a playmaker, he's not a rebounder, and he's not an above-average defender.

The 2016-17 league average was 3.8 RPG, 1.7 APG, 0.7 SPG, and 0.4 BPG. ( ~280 qualified players )

Whoa where's the respect for Elton Brand? Dude was a 20/10 guy and the best player on a Clippers team that almost won 50 games, and took a Steve Nash Suns team to 7 games in round 2. He tore his achilles in his late 20's and was never the same after, but he was a legit star before the injury.

Criticism of Booker is sacrosanct on this sub as well. That article that cited him as a bad defender had like 30 people saying "Oh Booker guards the hardest player on the opposing team" ( I've watched Earl Watson for years, that's not how his schemes work ) . Bring up that his advanced stats blow and you're met with what OP just posted

I've watched booker play. He's got a nice shot but is inconsistent, has a bad/average TS% and is an awful defender. He has potential, but he also has the writings on the wall that he's just a volume scorer and not much else. My body is ready for the down votes.

This is the hardest thing that r/nba does not understand. Outside of Bledsoe and Booker the Suns do not have players that can score ( Except Warren but he's injured a lot and had a bad concussion last season ) . Without Booker there would be no offense. It just wouldn't exist.
