He helped Kobe solidify his career and shed the narrative that he was riding Shaq's coattails to 3 titles, Pau is one of the few teammates Kobe truly respects, they both speak Spanish and share an international bond, Pau is one of his longest tenured teammates, and both battled each other in the gold medal game twice during their primes and Laker's tenure.
