嘗試瞭下命中 400 記三分的挑戰,大傢有什麼想問的嗎?
2 days ago, /u/Iamabucsfan posed a question: If you were locked in a gym and had to make 400 3-pointers to get out, would you survive? A friend of mine ( /u/me2123456 ) decided to put that to the test by going out to a court and trying it out for himself ( he asked me to post this ) . This one is for real, unlike a more recent post. In case you haven't seen the original post, the conditions were:

No food or water until the 400 3-pointers are made
Only one ball is to be used. You must get your own rebounds
NBA 3-pointers. No college 3's
投進 400 個三分之前,沒有食物或水供應;

First 100 attempts
Overall: 33/100 ( 33% )
Corner Shots: 7/19 ( 37% )
Normal Shots: 26/81 ( 32% )
Observations:
I have practiced and shot many high-school and college 3 pointers but have never knowingly attempted an NBA 3 before. The distance of the NBA 3 caused me to calibrate my shooting form by either sinking lower into my shot or heaving the shot further with my arms.
Fatigue:
I had issues with my calve cramps around 50-70 shot attempts into the challenge. I lost feeling in my right foot and only felt tingling at around this point as well as it seemed my shoe was cutting off blood flow to my foot ( something I never ran into before with these shoes ) . I took my shoes off for 5 minutes and resumed and thankfully didn’t have any more issues but I definitely wasn’t feeling optimistic about fatigue moving forward.

Total makes: 74
I really started to find a rhythm around the 100 shot attempt mark. I made 18 of 25 shots for 72% shooting from shot attempt 101 to shot attempt 126.
N/A. No issues with fatigue. Barely broke a sweat.

The hardest part about the challenge was finding a rhythm. I felt as if all my makes came in sets of 2-3 straight followed by many misses. Had my longest miss streak in this range with 13 straight demoralizing misses.
Surprisingly, fatigue played little to no role in my shooting. Most of my misses were actually long not short as would be expected if fatigue was impacting my shooting.

令我吃驚的是,投籃時我已經幾乎不覺得累瞭。投失的絕大部分球都是出手太用力而投長瞭,而實際上疲勞後一般預期球會投短。

I had another great shooting streak albeit diminished due to small sample size.

I went until I made 150 shots. However, the lighting in the video prevented me from determining my shooting percentage on the final 32 makes.
Not an issue. I did not feel thirsty or hungry at this point.

The End... for now
I had initially planned on using my car headlights to illuminate the court for shooting in the darkness. Unfortunately, the car headlamps were blinding me as I went up to shoot. I also was having issues seeing the rim. Finally, the sheer boredom was starting to get to me. I filmed using my phone and it did not allow me to play music while shooting.

我開始打算用我的車前燈照著球場,讓我能在黑暗中投籃。不走運的是,剛準備投籃時,車前燈把我眼睛都亮瞎瞭。而且我還看不清籃筐。最後,我開始覺得沒什麼意思瞭。我用手機拍的挑戰過程,而錄像時手機不能放音樂。
I strongly believe if my life depended on it I would be able to make 400 shots ( even if it involved napping and starting again in the morning ) . I was able to make 150 shots in 1 hr and 42 minutes. Extrapolating outward that would be about 400 shots in 4 ½ hours or more realistically 5-6 hours.
我堅信,要是這個挑戰關乎我的性命,我有能力投進 400 個三分球(就算需要睡一覺第二天早上再接著投也行)。我能在 1 小時 42 分鐘裡命中 150 球,可以推測,投進 400 球需要 4 個半小時,或者更實際一些,5-6 小時吧。
Surprisingly, fatigue ended up being a total non-issue. I did not have any muscular pain following after the first 100 shot attempts and the shooting/retrieving the ball was not cardiovascular difficult. I was not sore the next day.
我沒想到,疲勞感最後竟然完全影響不到我。完成前 100 次出手後,我的肌肉並不覺得疼;不斷地投球、撿球也沒有給我的心臟血管造成任何問題。第二天,我的身體也沒有酸痛感。
Corner 3’s were a high-risk high-reward gamble. They were easier to make but a bad miss on a corner 3 was not ideal. Overall 19% of the shots I took were from the corners. I primarily shot corner 3's when I desperately needed a bucket to go to end a cold streak or if the ball happened to roll near the corner.
投底角三分是一項高風險高回報的賭博。底角位置更容易投進,但打鐵後撿球就比較辛苦瞭。我有 19% 的出手來自底角。隻有在我某段時間手感冰涼急需進球來找回手感,或是球恰好落在底角位置時,我才投底角三分。
The Next Challenge
The next challenge I would like to attempt is the lock yourself in a gym with Kawhi Leonard. I believe given 100 possessions I would be able to score on him multiple times, so if anyone from the Spurs PR team sees this or if anyone has Kawhi’s number let him know he has been challenged.
