I didn't watch it live bc I had to work, but I nevertheless still remember where I was when I saw a replay of the shot late that night, and I think I always will. It's obv super stupid comparison to make, but for me it's like how everyone remembers where they were for the Moon Landing and the Berlin wall falling and 9/11 and shit. I just love the NBA so fucking much and it was clear nobody had ever really done what Steph was doing, so it felt like some pretty great history to watch.
15-16 regular season Steph was just so unreal all around, and this was no doubt the pinnacle. He basically cemented his unanimous MVP with a couple of months left in the regular season with that shot.
I love to hate GS these days, and feel a bit dirty being so circle-jerky about it all right now. But man, if you didn't at least somewhat appreciate what was happening with Steph that season, I almost don't think you can call yourself a fan of the game. It was just fucking magical.

I 100% get you. The OKC game, and then that crazy half court shot he hit against Memphis were the two moments where I was like "can this guy do anything wrong?". As someone who wasn't even alive for most of MJ's career, I imagine that was the sort of continuous awe he must have inspired. It was incredible.

I thought it was stupid. It makes sense to put the line on a football field for first downs cause you can't really see the pylons that well and it gives you a visual. The three point line is actually there on the court and it's highly visible so it made no sense to make it bigger when someone shot a three
