If I had to pick a side between Ray and Rondo, I'd easily pick Ray's.
I don't know anything for certain beyond what I saw on the court, and what I saw is that Ray Allen was a consummate professional who played hard his whole career, and Rondo is crazy and quit on his teams multiple times.

Ray was notorious in Milwaukee for handling himself way differently than most players. He did his own contract while paying a local law firm hourly, and did a lot of stuff with the Milwaukee elites including a lot of art related events. Seems like a super smart guy who may have been a little to heady to be well received by many players.

I do wonder if the interaction with Obama could have led to resentment against Allen. I remember in another book someone wrote how Obama said to Allen in their White House visit, "you gotta teach this kid to shoot" about Rondo. To Obama it was a harmless joke, but it ’ s the kind of thing that would bury under Rondo ’ s skin.
