參考范文:Describe a person who is helpful to you in study or work
1. Do you like helping others? 你喜歡幫助別人嗎?
Oh, yes! I really enjoy bearing my hand to others. I can even say it has become my second nature. Helping people and animals gives me a lot of joy and a warm feeling that something I did benefited others and made the world a better place. When I lend my hand to someone in need, I feel like I have a purpose, like I live my life for a reason and it makes me really happy. What I don't like about favouring other people is the fact that they are often not ready to accept help or advice and, in the end, turn into enemies. Of course, it makes me upset but, thankfully, doesn't stop me from doing good.
2. In your view, should children be taught to help others? 在你的看來,兒童應該被教育去幫助別人嗎?
Definitely, they should. Lending others a helping hand is really important for increasing children's self-confidence, self-esteem and life satisfaction because it improves mood, reduces stress and anxiety, brings fun and fulfillment to kids' lives. Moreover, it helps kids operate successfully in society, I mean, make new friends, strengthen existing relationships and boost social skills in general.
3. How can we encourage children to help others? 我們如何鼓勵兒童幫助他人?
To my mind, there are a lot of things parents can do to teach and motivate their kids to bear a hand to others. First of all, they should set their own example by helping a neighbour or a relative and letting a child see this action of helping or even engaging a child in this act of kindness. It's vital to teach children to give, and parents can do it by asking them to share an apple or a toy with them or somebody else. They can also make helping a family affair and perform some small acts of kindness together with kids, teaching them to see the abundance around and think of people they can share it with.
4. Do you think people are less willing to help others these days compared to the past? 你認為和過去相比,人們更不願意幫助別人嗎?
Well, I want to believe that more, despite the fact that people are too busy these days to think about others. Technological progress has let people see the inequity of the world and those people they can lend a helping hand to. As a result, people have become more sensitive to needs and troubles of others and more willing to help them cope with difficulties changing the situation for the better. I think the fact that a lot of people are engaged in charitable work and volunteering these days proves this hypothesis.
5. Do people today trust others as much as they used to in the past? 今天的人們是否像過去一樣信任他人 ?
Unfortunately, no. There is almost no trust to others these days compared to the past. I think this is because the gap between the rich and the poor is getting wider these days. Moreover, there is a high rate of racism and discrimination all around the world. All these factors make people more suspicious and destroy trust. Several decades ago people almost never locked their cars and front doors to their homes or if they did lock the front door, they left the key in some obvious place like under the mat. They also let children go anywhere they wanted without being accompanied. Regrettably, these days it's a highly unlikely scenario.
6. How do people in your community help each other? 你們社區的人是如何互相幫助的 ?
Well, I guess, first of all, they donate something they don't use anymore, let's say, give clothes they no longer wear to people who wear the same outfit day in and day out or give toys to children from poor families. They also offer needy families different help like babysitting, tutoring or teaching kids a skill they are good at. Some members of my community volunteer at our local shelter or hospice buying and cooking food, doing chores or just comforting distressed people lending them an ear or saying a kind word. When it comes to neighbours, people can see after each other's houses when someone is g. either watering plants or feeding pet!
7. How do students, such as high-school students, help each other? 學生們,比如高中生,如何互相幫助 ?
I guess students can do a lot to help each other succeed both academically and socially because peers play a central role in students' lives, especially in middle and high school. Teenagers often help their friends with building hopes and dreams or even setting goals and then encourage them to do their best to achieve these goals. They also share knowledge with each other and help weaker schoolmates with homework. What is more, students can provide one another with social support, assist with decision-making and help each other develop confidence and clear self-concepts.
8. How can charitable organizations help people? 慈善組織如何幫助人們 ?
Well, they embrace a wide range of questions, as far as I know. They provide the poor with shelter, food, clean water and clothing above all others. They also take care of people's health by doing research and educating the public on preventing different diseases, funding research to find cures for different illnesses, providing medical services and medicines, support and charitable assistance to ill people in need. They also take the long view and provide education for needy children, promote peace and relieve suffering all over the world.
9. What are some examples of such organizations in your country? 你們國傢的這些組織有哪些例子 ?
Well, one of the most known of them is Reliance Foundation which focuses on health, education, rural transformation, urban renewal and preservation of India's art heritage and culture. Also, there's Charitable Aid Foundation India which promotes management support to corporates and other organisations by designing investment programmes that deliver favourable results for charities. Another one is Access Bank Foundation which develops initiatives towards sustainable development, public health and education. One more institution is India Development and Relief Fund organisation focuses on programs towards children's education, women ’ s empowerment, rural sustainability and disaster relief. Finally, we should mention Concern India Foundation which focuses on helping the disadvantages reach their full potential by empowering them and providing resources that aid in becoming self-reliant.
10. What do you think are the benefits of having unpaid volunteer workers? 你認為擁有無薪志願者的好處是什麼 ?
I reckon that having unpaid volunteer workers gives companies a lot of advantages. First of all, it saves costs, which matters nowadays. It also lets companies get free help in solving some secondary tasks. Volunteers are always excited to get involved and take on new projects. Moreover, they can exhibit fresh ideas. They are truly motivated to help the company and willing to go above and beyond for the company. This is why they devote a lot of time to work, which contributes to the company's success and makes employers satisfied.
11. How do you think the volunteers themselves benefit? 你認為這些志願者自己是如何獲益的 ?
Well, volunteering brings a lot of benefits to volunteers, to my mind. First of all, it gives them an opportunity to learn about people from different environments and with different background. Secondly, it helps to explore new fields, adds to skills, offers an impressive networking opportunity and, as a result, boosts career options. And what is of primary importance in my view. It gives energy and sense of fulfillment creating a balance in life.
12. Should professionals be hired rather than using volunteer workers? 專業人士應該被雇傭而不是使用志願工作者嗎 ?
I am well-assured that 'yes' because only professionals are able to apply their knowledge and skills to comprehend and analyze real-life situations or issues and make decisions or eliminate defects. Moreover, they are more efficient workers and always enhance the performance of the teams they are a part of. As a result, they uplift the credentials of a company, improve customer confidence and attract more clients and contracts. Though volunteers are irreplaceable for secondary tasks and also add value to their companies.
13. Do you think international aid is important? 你認為國際援助很重要嗎 ?
I am sure it is. It does so much good to countries in need that I just can't say it isn't. Foreign aid saves lives, rebuilds livelihoods and housing after disasters, eases poverty in poorest countries. It also helps countries receiving help improve their economies, create jobs and make improvements to transport infrastructure. Aid for agriculture helps expand food output and refine the quantity and quality of available food. Provision of medications, therapeutic equipment and medical training improves health and standard of living. But what I consider most critical is that aid from government to another nurtures diplomatic relations between involved countries and so is of real importance.
14. Can you give any examples of international aid? 你能舉一些國際援助的例子嗎 ?
Well, there are different types of international aid such as economic, military, emergency humanitarian ( following natural disasters ) , official development assistance, technical advice and training. A famous example of emergency international aid is emergency medical care and assistance in conflict zones after natural disasters and during epidemics provided by Doctors without Borders. An example of economic aid is billions in grants and loans to reduce poverty given by World Bank.
